2nd CD Photo Project
As you’ll notice, some of our district sites have photographs from their corresponding counties. I am trying to collect photographs and images to provide a glimpse of the Second Congressional District. If you have an image of Jefferson County that you’d like to share, please send it to my DC Office or email it to Udallphotoproject@mail.house.gov. If you have any questions, please call 202.225.2161.

Though Jefferson County has the largest population of any county in the state, only a small, but important, portion resides in the Second Congressional District. The Communities of Arvada and Wheat Ridge, and portions of Broomfield and Golden constitute the bulk of the 2nd CD’s Jeffco populace. Named for our third president, Thomas Jefferson, the county housed Colorado’s second capitol in Golden from 1862-1867, when Denver was established as the permanent government seat. One of Colorado’s original counties, Jefferson County has hosted some of the West’s most colorful figures, including William F. Cody (Buffalo Bill-buried on Lookout Mountain above Golden), Alferd Packer and members of the Hole-in-the-Wall Gang. It has a population of 515,200 people and is 777 miles square.
