One of Colorado’s 17 original counties, Boulder County has a long and colorful history. First inhabited by the Arapahoe, Cheyenne and Ute tribes, the county has seen the full spectrum of Colorado’s past and present. It tenders a diverse assortment of topography and settings, which ranges from 5,000’ on the plains to the 14,255’ pinnacle of Longs Peak, from the bustling community of Superior to the tucked-away villages of Nederland and Jamestown. Boulder County also contains portions of the beautiful Arapahoe-Roosevelt National Forest, the Indian Peaks Wilderness and Rocky Mountain National Park. The county’s population is approximately 241,274, encompassing 753 miles square.
