Thank you for your interest in applying for an internship in Congressman Mark Udall’s District Office. The internship program offers college students and recent college graduates a unique opportunity to learn about the functions of the House of Representatives and the Congressman’s work representing the Second Congressional District of Colorado.
An internship with Congressman Udall presents a variety of opportunities to participate in the daily operations of a Congressional office. General intern responsibilities include answering telephones, data entry, responding to constituent requests, attending meetings, assisting with special projects, assisting with constituent casework, and other miscellaneous tasks as required throughout the year.
In the busy atmosphere of a Congressional office, it is important that interns conduct themselves in a mature and professional manner. Interns must follow directions, perform well under pressure and work well as part of a team. Many skills are required, including a courteous and professional phone manner, computer literacy, punctuality, and the ability to complete tasks efficiently and thoroughly.
Attached you will find an internship application, an intern agreement form and an intern schedule form. These forms will need to be returned to our office by the following deadlines: November 14 for spring applications, April 14 for summer applications, and July 14 for fall applications. We will review your application and contact you for an interview.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
